Our story

The Word of Truth Church in Marseille was founded in 2022 after a part of the Ukrainian church was displaced by the war. With 20 years of experience in serving people in difficult life circumstances (alcohol and drug addicts, prisoners), the team decided to continue this mission in France, where there is also a great need for such help.

The church is a member of FEEBF and has created the association ABEJ-RENOUVEAU. Ukrainians who became refugees are actively integrating into French society, working and studying, while serving the local community and other refugees.

The main goal is to help them through biblical teaching, prayer, and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Currently, the church holds Sunday services and home Bible groups, as well as conducts evangelistic outreaches on Saturdays in Marseille.

One of the important needs of the church is to purchase a building to create a center for the reception and rehabilitation of people in difficult life circumstances.

VIDEO INTERVIEW

We also started to hold Sunday services and Bible groups on Wednesdays in Marseille. Several people who live in Marseille have joined us. They are Ukrainians and one Russian family. Two people have been baptized. In addition, we regularly go to Marseille on Saturdays with a tent representing our ministry. During this time we have received several people and provided them with the necessary assistance. There are many peoples living in France, and in the south there are many Africans. This summer we took in a man named Faisal, a Tunisian. He spoke a little Russian and taught us French. He spent a month and a half with us and got to know the Word of God. Now we are hosting another person, Nana, a Nigerian. It is very exciting to fulfill the great mission of Christ: “Go and make disciples of all nations”. Thus, the basis of our help is biblical teaching, prayer and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is incredible that Ukrainians, who are refugees in France, accept and help Africans, who are also refugees!

Throughout the year, we prayed, reflected, and asked God: “What should we do?”. We saw that drug addiction is a serious problem in France, especially in Marseille, and decided to stay and serve people in France as well as in Ukraine. For three years now, we have been studying the language, culture, history and geography of France. We became members of FEEBF and created the association “ABEJ-RENOUVEAU”. In addition, some of us have found stable jobs (permanent contracts), others work seasonally (temporary contracts), and some are learning new professions through France Travel programs.

The needs of the Church

We recently took in a family from Ukraine who are our students and used to be drug addicts. The woman is very sick and had a disability status in Ukraine. When she arrived in France, she was 35 weeks pregnant. We help them get medical care and other types of support in France, because it is very difficult in Ukraine. On December 9, she gave birth (via cesarean section) to a baby girl named Lydia. On April 9, this woman is to undergo a complicated heart surgery. We know that many more people will need asylum in France as long as the war in our country continues.

Our vision is to serve people in great difficulty. We are ready to receive victims of sin with broken lives, as we once did. Therefore, we need a home where we can welcome these people in need and share our faith with them.
AC3 decided to sell the house we are currently living in. They announced a price of 200,000 euros. This house has an area of 350 m² and many rooms. In fact, this house was originally purchased to help people in need. Several Albanian families lived here before us. The property has land and a garden where we planted 20 olive trees. It's a peaceful place, close to a small village and far from the big cities - ideal for reflection, prayer and Bible study. We have already raised 10,000 euros.

Please join us in prayer and fundraising! May God bless you!
